Damian Gilbert is a finance and mortgage banking professional with nearly three decades of experience helping families build wealth through homeownership and financial education.
A native of Citrus Heights, California, Damian earned his B.S. in Finance from Birmingham-Southern College and his MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
He began his banking career as a Commercial Banker with SouthTrust Bank in 1997 before transitioning into mortgage banking, where he found his passion for financial education and helping families achieve the goal of homeownership.
For nearly 30 years, he has remained committed to expanding financial knowledge and creating pathways to generational wealth. Beyond his professional work, Damian is deeply committed to serving his community.
He is a founding member of Hoover AHEAD and a member of the 100 Black Men of Metro Birmingham and Regions Evergreen Toastmasters Club.
He previously served as Chairman of the Regions Diversity and Inclusion Network for the Birmingham Market, President of the Board of Neighborhood Housing Services, and as a member of the Friends Board of WBHM 90.3 and the Advisory Council for the A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club.
Damian is a graduate of Leadership Birmingham’s 2018 class and Leadership Hoover’s 2023 class. Above all, he considers being a father to his three sons, Damarius, Solomon, and Nehemiah Gilbert, his proudest accomplishment.
