For Shariff James, Mission GalaCON didn’t begin with an event. It began with a lifetime of experiences.

Years spent in real estate and land development showed him what ownership could make possible. Years spent mentoring, coaching, connecting people, and producing experiences showed him something else: access to information is not the same as access to opportunity.
Too often, the knowledge that changes lives stays inside certain rooms, certain relationships, and certain families. Shariff wanted to help change that.

Creating the Kind of Room That Can Move People
Long before Mission GalaCON, Shariff James understood the power of bringing people together.
In 1998, he founded Mission Entertainment to create memorable experiences for working professionals. Over the years, he and his team produced more than 200 events at venues including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Prudential Center, and MetLife Stadium.
But for Shariff, bringing people together has always been about more than the event itself. It’s about the connections made, the experiences shared, and what becomes possible when the right people are in the same room. He calls some of those people change agents, individuals who share knowledge, open doors, and help others move forward, often without expecting anything in return.
Mission GalaCON brings together Shariff’s experience in event production, his work in real estate development, and his belief in creating opportunities for others.

The idea was never simply to fill a room. It was to create the right room.
For Shariff, legacy isn’t something we leave behind someday. It’s something we build by uplifting others along the way.
That belief is especially important when it comes to the next generation. Through the Youth Legacy Initiative, Mission GalaCON extends its mission beyond the conference and gala, creating opportunities for young people to gain exposure, learn from those who have walked the path, and begin imagining what they can build and own.
As Mission GalaCON celebrates its third year, the vision remains rooted in the belief that started it all: bring good people together, share what we know, create opportunities, and help others move forward.
Because the goal was never simply to create another event. It was to create a community where knowledge opens doors, relationships create possibilities, and what one generation has learned becomes the foundation for the next.
